The beautiful land of Guyana is nestled on the northern coast of South America, this country overflows with breathtaking rainforests, diverse wildlife, and a culture that radiates warmth and hospitality. It’s a place where God’s creation shines vividly, and His love is ready to be shared in powerful ways.
Guyana has a strong Christian foundation, with about 57per cent of the population identifying as followers of Christ. Yet, as Jesus reminds us in Matthew 9:37, "The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few."
There is always room for spiritual growth and renewal, especially among the youth and in unreached areas. Additionally, with 31 per cent of the population practicing Hinduism, there’s an incredible opportunity to share the hope and love found in Jesus.
OM in Guyana is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). Our passion is to mobilise churches and believers to reach the nations for Jesus, partnering with local congregations to inspire and equip people for mission work. We provide opportunities for believers to participate in both short and long-term mission outreaches, locally and internationally.
Under the leadership of Shelley Fortune, OM in Guyana creates opportunities for discipleship through programs like TeenStreet, empowering young people to become strong leaders for Christ. We also extend Christ’s compassion to the special needs community and engage in creative evangelism, and practical service.
Psalm 96:3 calls us to "Declare his glory among the nations, His marvellous works among all the peoples." We are thrilled to welcome teams from other countries who want to partner with us and make a difference in Guyana.
