Journey Overview

Restoration Ministry: It is a Christian project that works with vulnerable children and adolescents in downtown São Paulo. They currently work in 5 different communities (Favela), where children, teenagers and their families suffer from social vulnerability.
The problems detected are: drug use and trafficking, violence, high crime rate, unemployment and underemployment, family breakdown, high incidence of teenage pregnancy, children's learning difficulties and illiteracy.

The Restoration Ministry offers hope in this sad reality.
In these communities, we reach 700 children and teenagers every week. To reach out to the need of the slum communities and share Jesus as a Savior through our abilities and gifts that God has given us to use.

The participant can decide to stay and work with the ministry from one week to six months, but we need to know and talk about this before he/she comes. Price excludes non-refundable deposit of £50, flights, insurance & any possible vaccinations and is subject to change according to the exchange rate.

Applicants must be 18 or over.

If you live in the UK and would like to apply, please enquire with the dates and length you are hoping to go.

As part of our Safeguarding policy, you may require a valid enhanced DBS certificate, which may cost an additional £20.

What To Expect

Weekly Activities: Bible Study groups (clubs): We have 200 participating children and teenagers, from 5 to 18 years old.
Family Support: Our visitation program is structured to support, encourage and accompany families in their daily challenges, sharing God's love and grace.
Women's Ministry: Through small groups we share the hope that only Christ offers.
Planting churches: We have 4 planted churches. Our goal is for the community to have the church as a place of peace, hope, worship, fellowship with the Lord and spiritual growth.
Sports ministry: 130 participating students. Sports modalities are a great strategy to introduce concepts of citizenship, responsibility and respect and in the formation of conscientious children and adolescents.
English in the Communities: Our goal is to encourage participating children and teenagers to study and engage in language learning.
Musicalization and Singing: We are investing in the musical area to stimulate the child's discipline and personal development.
