Gift of Life Insurance
Life insurance gives you opportunity to provide for your loved ones at your passing. You might also choose to support your favorite charity this way. This gift planning tool can enable you to make a significant gift to OM Canada, with relatively low investments in premium.
1. Donate a new life insurance policy
Purchase a new life insurance policy and name OM Canada as the owner and beneficiary. At your passing a gift will support the work of OM Canada. Should you choose to pay the premiums yourself, you will receive an annual donation receipt for all such payments made within each year.
2. Donate an existing life insurance policy
If you no longer require your existing life insurance policy or consider giving all or a portion to your favourite charity, you can designate OM Canada as the owner and beneficiary. You will receive donation receipts for the value of this existing policy as well as for any ongoing premiums that you may choose to pay.
3. Make OM Canada a beneficiary of the policy
With your existing policy, name OM Canada as the beneficiary or co-beneficiary of the policy proceeds. You choose if it is all or a portion, and you can also modify your choices at any time.. OM Canada will issue a tax receipt to your estate after your death for the amount received. Such a gift of Life Insurance to OM Canada will enable you to leave a significant gift at your passing, which might be larger than what might be possible during your lifetime. It is very simple to name OM Canada as a beneficiary. Start by requesting a change-of-beneficiary form from your policy administrator or download the form from your provider's website. Make your desired changes and return the form to establish your gift.
