Journey Overview

Come alongside the OM Greece team to support us and our partner churches as we seek to share the Gospel with our neighbours in Greece. The purpose of this outreach is to come alongside existing ministries and support the work that is already going on in Athens.

This cost covers only accommodation, meals, and transport for ministries. It does not include airfare, visa, travel insurance, required vaccinations, and airport transfer. Charges may be incurred for late cancellation. Dates and costs may be subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control.
Please contact us at 6743 1889 or Personnel.SG@om.org if you are interested.

What To Expect

Volunteers will serve where there is the greatest need during their time in Athens. They may be helping at feeding programs, with refugees, with victims of trafficking, with practical projects such as painting, etc.

Participant Profile

Age Range: 18-70

The most important characteristic a volunteer can have is flexibility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will there be accommodation provided?

Volunteers will stay at an OM apartment. Volunteers should expect to have roommates. Volunteers may be required to climb several flights of stairs if a lift is unavailable. If special accommodation is required, please inquire with the STM coordinator.

Will there be food provided?

Participants will be solely responsible for purchasing their own groceries and preparing their own meals. They will have access to a kitchen in the apartment.

Do I need to make my own travel arrangements?

Participants are responsible for arranging their travel to and from Athens International Airport. The airport code is “ATH.” They will need to take the metro from the airport into the city, where we will meet them. They should not arrive in the city later than 10 PM.

What should my health condition be like?

Participants must be in good health and physically able to stand, bend, lift, walk, and do other physical activity as needed. Athens is a large city and volunteers must be able to walk long distances and climb hills/stairs.

Do I need a visa?

Citizens of the EU, Schengen Member States, and Canada do not need a visa for this outreach. Citizens of the USA will need to apply for a visa waiver (see more info at etias.info). All others may need a visa. If a visa is required, and a fee is involved, it is the participant's responsibility to pay the fees. You can check if you need a visa here: https://www.mfa.gr/en/visas/visas-for-foreigners-traveling-to-greece/co…
