Partnership Overview
Young people today are searching for what is real and what works in their lives. They are moving from childhood to adulthood. Some have already started a friendship with Jesus but lack a mentor to disciple them in their relationship with Christ, while others have never heard of Christ. Around the world, there is a tremendous need for full-time youth workers, who have a deep desire to see young people develop in their walk with Jesus. In many circumstances, creativity is needed to find ways to make connections and build relationships with young people. Do you share our passion to see young people discover who Jesus is and be built up to become men and women who follow Him? Consider joining us on this journey!
Required Skills
The Hub is a place where young believers and especially non-believers can come and spend their free time. For Christians, it's a place where they can serve and share the Gospel. For non-Christians, it's a safe place where they can ask questions about God and faith, be challenged in their beliefs, and experience God's great love and generosity.
Once a week, The Hub has a 30-minute bilingual teaching time called Bible Talk. Other activities at The Hub include dinners, board game nights, and sports evenings (volleyball, spikeball, ringo, etc.). The young people also go on hikes together and have the opportunity to participate in a summer camp.
The Hub is all about relationship-building, friendships, and serving the young people of České Budějovice.
As a volunteer at The Hub you would be expected to:
- Enter into and start conversations with young people.
- Develop relationships.
- Pro-actively engage in faith-related conversations.
- Share your faith with non-believers.
- Answer intellectual objections to Christianity.
- Disciple believers and challenge non-believers.
- Prepare your testimony and share it in front of people (up to 5 min) and on-camera (30-90 sec).
- Be part of outreaches. That can include visiting public schools and sharing about your life at home and why you came to the Czech Republic.
- Open the youth center and be available there.
- Be part of a rota for cleaning the youth center.
- Help with preparing and running The Hub events.
Any of these talents would be very beneficial during your service:
- Playing an instrument.
- Sports.
- Preparing short games or minute-to-win-it games.

* The jobs listed on this website do not have a set salary. This means that the person who applies will need to raise their own support, which is money that they will use to live on. The amount of support money they need to raise will depend on things like where they are from, if they have a family, and what country they will be working in. There might be some jobs that pay salary, but these are rare and would need to be negotiated with the sending offices and the teams you'd like to serve with. If you have any questions about this, please contact your local home office. Always keep in mind that our ministry depends on generous giving from our partners around the globe and God's ongoing provision. Joining OM is always seen as a step of faith and trust in a God who will provide for our needs through his chosen people.
