To bring the Gospel to the people of Japan through the application of contextual arts by:
- Developing discipling relationships
- Empowering local artists to use their gifts for God's glory
- Bringing vibrancy to the church in worship and witness.
(Contextual art: Creating art that utilises styles, symbols, methods and meanings from the local culture that people understand and connect with at a heart level.)
This role interfaces with Inspiro Arts Alliance www.inspiroartsalliance.org
Required Skills
Artists we are looking for: visual art, theatre, musician, dancer, etc.
Required Competencies I have self-awareness of my strengths and weaknesses in both my artistry and spiritual maturity. I work well with a team. I can give and receive constructive feedback on ministry related items and my artistry. I connect effectively with others whether face-to-face or virtually. I communicate effectively both orally and in writing. I am willing to learn Japanese for at least 2 years. I am trained in my art form, whether through studies or experience.
Essential Passions I have a love for the Japanese people and culture. I have a passion to learn. I understand my artistry as a gift from the Father that must be stewarded well. I pursue beauty by seeking first God's goodness in every aspect of my being, creating and relating to others. I am curious. I love building relationships over time with the people around me.
