As a bookkeeper serving on the mission field, you will provide much-needed support to the accountant on the OM team, and you will fulfil a vital ministry role toward the purpose of seeing more vibrant communities of Jesus followers among the least reached. We are looking for knowledgeable, detail-oriented individuals who will handle the paperwork associated with OM's business and ministry transactions, including petty cash, data entry, bills, accounts, banking and record keeping. Participation in local ministry and team life may also be aspects of your role
Required Skills
This role involves processing the day to day transactions conducted at the entity level. Depending upon the size of the entity there may be other finance staff doing parts of the job, such as payroll, and a local or remote accountant overseeing the work.
Main Tasks:
General Accounting tasks
- Managing the petty cash
- Receipting and recording gifts
- Filing receipts and other source documents
- Reconciling the bank accounts
- Payment of invoices in a timely manner
- Entering financial data into the accounting software
- Production of financial reports
- Identifying and correcting errors in the finance data
Payroll
- May be processing a payroll and other staff payments
- Helping staff understand their cost centre reports
Treasury and cash flow
- Manage the inter company transactions - income and expenses
- Monitor the cash flow and advise the team leader of cash needs
