Comptabilité

I joined the OM Finance team last May and have been helping out as a volunteer two days a week.

I am a housewife with training and experience in accounting. For the past fifteen years I have had the joy of looking after the accounts of the Ozoir-la-Ferrière Protestant Church, which my family attends.

After our children had grown up, I had more time to devote to the Lord’s service, and when I learned that OM urgently needed an accountant, I wanted to know more. After a number of conversations with the Dixons, God gradually convinced me I could use my skills and time to bless and serve this mission, whose offices are not far from where I live.

My role consists mainly of keeping the accounts up to date (entering donations, paying bills, recording expenses) and answering queries to do with the mission’s finances. We are an international team, with people coming from very different backgrounds. What a blessing it is to work alongside people whose talents are so varied!

I am so glad I answered God’s call according to my abilities. And while this new job has its fair share of challenges each day, it takes me out of my comfort zone and causes me to trust our heavenly Father more and more.

How about you? Are you willing to let God surprise you, and rise to the challenge of using your gifts and talents in God’s service?
