Dorcas Selwyn, now a medical doctor, is one of many whose future pathway was birthed after a visit to one of OM’s ships.

Dorcas Selwyn first visited the now decommissioned ship, Doulos, at the age of 10.

During this visit, she had the opportunity to get a sneak peek into a ship crewmember’s life on board a vessel that brings knowledge, help and hope.

“This greatly moved me; I had an innate desire to be a medical doctor on board ever since.”

In 2011, prior to enrolling in medical school, Dorcas, who is from Kuala Lumpur, joined the three-month Short Term Exposure Programme on Logos Hope.

“I was part of a vibrant community that was enthusiastic to pray and work together to reach out to many. This journey equipped me to rely on God’s guidance for every step; to cultivate dependency in Jesus, the true Source and Provider.”

In 2014, she joined a short outreach trip with OM: Reaching Brazil - World Cup 2014. This experience enabled her to step out of her comfort zone to share the good news to individuals and groups.

“I am still a work in progress but I believe that ‘He who began a good work in me will be faithful to complete it’.”
