Partnership Overview

While working with the Communications and Marketing Department you will be creating engaging videos that tell the stories of OM Canada's mission and projects, and which help to promote OM Canada.

Required Skills

Accountable to: Director of Communications and Marketing

KEY RESULT AREAS 

  1. Video Creation: Working in conjunction with the Communications and Marketing Department, create various types and forms of video content, for internal and external use, including but not limited to: videos for social media usage, storytelling videos, and promotional videos, showcasing the work and impact of OM globally and locally.
  • According to OM Canada's marketing calendar, research content and themes for upcoming video production, researching through interviews, OM's digital content database, and newly created content.
  • Produce and edit short and long-form videos for online and offline use.
  • Craft all necessary parts of the video process including storyboards, scripts, and artwork design.
  • Create social media-friendly videos, including both faceless and interview-style content, for various social media platforms.
  • Work with other departments to create required video content and to update current videos. These can be educational, training related, and promotional.
  • Manage video production timelines and deliverables.
  1. Evaluate, Monitor, and Research Industry Developments and Evaluating Trends
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase our reach and engage our Canadian audience through video by evaluating current status and trends
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of content by effectively utilizing reporting and analytic tools.
  • Maintain a knowledge of developments, innovations, and new technology in the communications and marketing, and video production field, and identify any that may benefit OM Canada.
  • Ensure all content adheres to the OM brand guidelines and aligns with OM Canada's mission.
  1. Other Responsibilities:
  • Work with the Communications Team to craft, develop, and write stories, and other content as needed.
  • Work with the Communications Department to support the needs of all OM Canada's efforts, filling in as needed.
  • Communicating with and keeping updated on OM International's global marketing efforts and campaigns.
  • Fulfill other duties as required.

A. Ministry involvement Ensure you are actively involved in team life when possible, in order to ensure you are ministering to others and being ministered to.  Core activities

  1. Actively participate on a regular basis in team devotions, prayer times and other meetings as required.
  2. Serve practically within the team to ensure whatever needs to be done is done well and the load is shared around.

B. Support base development Actively engage with the support raising culture of the OM Canada team. Although all OM Canada team salaries are fixed and subject to the salary bands of our remuneration policy, all team members should build a network of supporters who will pray and contribute to our ministry. The exact amount that we will want you to raise in order to help finance your position will be communicated to you at the start of each calendar year. Core activities

  1. Maintain regular contact with your prayer partners, financial supporters and sending church(es) - developing relationships that minister to them and further your partnership with them.
  2. Develop your prayer and financial support base on a continual basis by asking individuals, groups, and churches to join your support team as you have opportunity.

C. Safe working practices Ensure work is carried out in accordance with written and verbally communicated internal and external safety, environmental, and country specific legal regulations in order to ensure safe working practices. Core activities

  1. Ensure that both your own and the area in which you are working is kept clean, orderly, and safe.
  2. Ensure a safe, correct usage, and adequate maintenance of all tools and equipment used in your work.
  3. Work in accordance with written and verbally communicated safety and environmental regulations and understand and know the risks and risk assessments related to your role and duties.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum preferred requirements

  • 2 years of video production and editing experience in various formats and for various types of audiences
  • 2 years working in a team environment meeting schedules and deadlines

Required knowledge

• Bachelor's degree in videography/digital media or equivalent combination of professional and academic experience Technical competencies and core competencies

  • Proficiency with video editing software
  • Proven ability to tell compelling stories through video, including interviewing subjects
  • Proficiency in using various other applications such as the Microsoft Office 365 programs, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Creative Cloud, file sharing systems
  • Good understanding of current communications and marketing trends and requirements for video production.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and video formats.
  • Experience writing content in in short and long-form formats
  • Good graphic design skills
  • Excellent grasp of the Canadian English language, both verbal and written
  • Excellent video creation skills for various audiences
  • Excellent ability to manage time and multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines
  • Excellent ability to work independently and to take initiative
  • Strong teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to innovate and to generate new ideas
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Ability to speak and write Canadian French is an asset
  • Ability to travel within and outside of Canada to interview and record subjects
